Last week, just a few hours before joining our members at the Night March in Osijek, our association took part in the first meeting of the informal network for combating sexism in the media and advertising industry, coordinated by the Poreč Center for Civic Initiatives Association, in the premises of the Croatian Journalists’ Association in Zagreb.
The network will actively monitor national and local media in order to increase reports of sexist content, work to raise awareness of the harmful impact of sexism, advocate compliance with existing laws, and advocate stricter sanctions for media and advertisers who repeatedly produce sexist content. We are very proud to become part of this kind of network and be able to make changes.
